The Sahtú Renewable Resources Board was established under the guidance of the Sahtú Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement to be the main instrument of wildlife, fish, and wildlife habitat management in the Sahtú Settlement Area, Northwest Territories. The Board has the authority to establish policies and propose regulations on the domestic and commercial harvesting of wildlife; commercial activities including for harvesting, guiding, and outfitting services; and hunting, fishing, and naturalist camps and lodges.
